It has been a bit of time since I last wrote anything here, the past year and a bit has been interesting to say the least.
I have just come back from an idyllic week in Sherwood Forest, where I spent some time reflecting on the past year and thinking about the future path. The cabin was wonderful with all the amenities needed, including a glorious hot tub, BBQ on the porch and a log burner and underfloor heating in the cabin. Perfect for a relaxing time even when the weather turns cold.
The forest setting provided some great views and the wildlife on site just set everything off perfectly, even the squirrel looking for food whilst I was eating breakfast was a delight.
In 2022 I was working with a client that meant it was best to keep a low profile online and so I severely restricted what I posted online, and then I had a heart attack last May, which also meant I did not feel like posting much online.
I have made several major lifestyle changes and in November started a fitness journey which involved joining a gym, and working with a personal trainer. I am now feeling much happier and have more energy. Since last May I have lost over 12Kg of weight, gained some muscle mass, and now stopped taking medication for high blood pressure.
I have to admit to being a little childish whilst recuperating from the heart attack and used the time to produce some ‘dirty’ lego photos, for a little bit of fun.
This year I am pleased to be working back in an area I am comfortable with, and where I can hopefully share some insights, Application Security and securing the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Having bleeted on about the subject for nearly 20 years now, software composition has finally begun to be the focus of many organisations and SBOMs are starting to be talked about, in terms of legislation.
